ABSTRACT
The main objective of this study is to find out the impact of engagement strategies on staff behavioral on staff behavioral outcomes in tertiary institutions using covenant university in Ogun State as case study. The survey research design was adopted for the study and with the aid of convenient sampling One Hundred and Thirty-four (134) participant who are staff of the covenant university was selected for the study. The research instrument was issued to the respondent of which One Hundred and Twenty(120) was retrieved and validated for the study. Data was analyzed using frequencies, tables and simple percentage. Hypothesis test was conducted using Pearson Correlation (SPSS v.2.3). The findings indicate that career opportunities, recognition of efforts, institution’s reputation, investment in employees and fun at work have positive influence on job satisfaction, job involvement and employees’ loyalty.
The study therefore recommends that Managers should place emphasis on creating an inclusive workplace culture, whereby employees are treated as though they belong with the organization. Management should design policies which will enable them to measure employee engagement levels to sustain the organization through continuous improvement efforts. Finally In order to retain the faculty members with distinctive competences, the universities should enhance the work engagement of the employees. The value of the institutional supports will likely influence the behavioural outcomes of the employees.
